The Skimmie Cyclone is an innovative skimmer basket attachment designed to turbocharge your pool’s surface cleaning performance by increasing water flow and improving debris capture. Simply place the Cyclone on top of your skimmer basket and let the powerful vortex action help pull leaves, bugs, pollen, and floating debris into the basket before they sink.
Its patented funnel design creates concentrated surface suction that improves skimming efficiency and helps keep your pool cleaner with less effort. The Cyclone works by directing and accelerating water flow into the skimmer basket, creating a visible vortex effect that enhances surface pull and circulation.
Designed with versatility in mind, the Cyclone is available in multiple sizes to fit most standard pool skimmer baskets:
8" Cyclone – Fits most 8" inground pool skimmer baskets
7" Cyclone – Fits most 7" inground pool skimmer baskets

The transparent ABS construction allows you to easily see water movement and monitor captured debris inside the basket. Its durable, UV-resistant design is built to withstand season after season of pool use.
The adjustable funnel design also works with different water levels:
Water level 3" or higher: Narrow opening facing up
Water level less than 3": Flip the Cyclone with the narrow opening down for improved flow and reduced air intake
For best performance:
Ensure your pump is running properly
Clean your filter and skimmer basket regularly
Remove float valves/diverters if applicable
Use the included Weir Wedge to hold the weir door down for increased surface water flow
Adjust variable speed pumps higher for stronger skimming action if needed
The included Weir Wedge helps maximize circulation by holding the skimmer weir door open, allowing more surface water and debris to enter the skimmer system for improved cleaning performance.

I installed the Cyclone in the skimmer basket, first with the cone facing down... Not much really happened.
Next I reversed the Cyclone to face upwards and the whirlpool started going really well.
Only problem is I noticed air bubbles in the return line, and the pump would cavitate to the point of losing prime.
I had to remove the Cyclone from use.

Skimmie pool skimmer
I placed the skimmie into my pool skimmer as soon as I received it. And I wondered why I did not see any immediate change to the water flowing into the skimmer. Then I realize that with us getting 4 and a half inches of rain for the last three days the pool was so full of water the surface was over the top of the of weir door and unlikely to have any effect. Since the rain has stopped the whip effect is visible and the surface of the pool is cleaner and much less skimming by hand.

I’m very happy with the skimmie. It performs like it’s supposed to. I had to put a small rock in the basket because it floats when the pool is off.
